It's that time of year:
ERRI plans annual benefit dance for November - by Laura W. Baier

ERRI's seventh annual benefit dance is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 3rd and ERRI volunteers, members, and friends are invited to come party.

As has been the case for years, there will be music, food and drink, and a fabulous silent auction. All proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction will completely benefit the horses and ponies of ERRI.

This year the dance will be held at Our Lady of Grace church on Middletown Rd. in Parkton. The church is located off I-83 exit 31 east on Middletown Rd. The hall can hold nearly 300 people and offers plenty of room for dancing and silent auction patrons to enjoy the fun.

The facility is perfect for ERRI's benefit according to ERRI president Debbie Frank.

"We really lucked out," she said. "The only reason we got it is because another group canceled. It's a beautiful site and easy to find."

Last year's benefit dance brought about $2400 to ERRI. Due to a late change in the location of the dance and the Halloween weekend, only 100 people attended last year's dance at the Cockeysville Fire Hall. ERRI's board is expecting a larger crowd at Our Lady of Grace this year.

"Having to move the dance location three weeks before last year's dance really hurt us," Frank said. Because of the location change last year, dance publicity was late and difficult according to board members.

"We want to get the word out early this year so everyone can be prepared to come celebrate this great cause and have a good time in the process," Frank said.

Over 68 businesses and private donors donated both money and silent auction items for the 2000 dance. ERRI board members are preparing to gather donations from area businesses for this year's auction. The silent auction generally features items such as paintings, crafts, equestrian paraphernalia, and gift certificates to restaurants and stores.

You can contact Debbie Frank at 410-343-2142 or Eileen Hollaway at 410-452-5001 to purchase tickets. Ticket prices are to be announced. Please check the ERRI website (listed at the bottom of the page) for ticket prices or call Debbie or Eileen.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Nov. 3rd.
