You are here: Newsletters > December 1999 > Fuzzy Dancer Update By Kate Kase You may be following the story of Fuzzy Dancer, who has been featured in our last few newsletters. Were highlighting FD, as we call him, because of his remarkable story. FD was a race horse, though not a particularly good one. We dont know much about how he was handled at the track. We only know that he came to us with a broken back, just above his tail. He was thin, showed evidence of severe stifle problems, and as if that werent enough, hes a cribber. Later examinations revealed at least three other previously broken bones. He could be led in a circle to the left but not to the right. We werent sure hed make it. Hes been a special project of ours since late last fall. Im happy to say he now looks wonderful, is very happy, and is starting under saddle. Weve brought him back using lots of love and attention, exercise, chiropractic care, and the Super Blue Green Algae mentioned at the end of Dr. Wards article. To what do we owe the most credit? Who knows? But well keep doing whatever works! |
