The Horse World Expo in January was ERRI's most successful Expo to date. Despite a weekend including a very snowy Saturday that brought light traffic to the Timonium Fairgrounds, ERRI made about $930 during the course of the four days. ERRI volunteers helped man a new-and-improved ERRI booth in the Cow Palace. The change this year from a free booth in the 4-H Building to a $500 space in the Cow Palace, seemed to be worth it. The $500 fee for the space was donated by an ERRI supporter. "I think the reason this Expo was so successful is because we were in a more predominant place," said ERRI founder and Board of Directors President Debbie Rollins-Frank. The ERRI Advisory Board voted to recommend ERRI continue to do its best to procure booth space in the Cow Palace at future expos. "We were able to talk to and educate so many more people about responsible horse ownership and practices," said Advisory Board President Laura W. Baier. "And with the snow, I don't know how much traffic the other smaller buildings actually got. I heard some vendors made significantly less money." The bulk of ERRI's income came from raffle items including a horse blanket, a horse/pony starter kit including over $150 of grooming and horse supplies, a Breyer Horse, a leather bridle with a Mylar bit, a pewter horse pitcher, and a Swedish massage from About Faces. Other money came from the generous donations of passers by and the sale of ERRI merchandise including a new line of hats, T-shirts, and Sweatshirts in tan.
